Philosophy as a Way of Life (or PWOL) is a growing movement that the instructors for this course have been learning from and participating in for several years. In addition to the specific people named on the Acknowledgements Page, we would also like to thank and call attention to all the colleagues who have hosted and participated in:
- “Reviving Philosophy as a Way of Life” (a Summer Institute funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and hosted at Wesleyan University in July 2018)
- “Mellon Foundation Philosophy as a Way of Life Network” (an ongoing project hosted at the University of Notre Dame)
The Mellon PWOL website has many resources, including a list of participating faculty, a library of syllabi and other materials, and a blog with information on opportunities.
