Stephen Angle
Professor of Philosophy and Mansfield Freeman Professor of East Asian Studies

Stephen Angle specializes in Chinese Philosophy, Confucianism, Neo-Confucianism, and comparative philosophy, and his research focuses on philosophy’s role in human rights, politics, and ethics both in China and globally.

Tushar Irani
Professor of Philosophy and Letters

Tushar Irani holds a joint appointment in the Department of Philosophy and the College of Letters. Apart from his interests in philosophy as a way of life, he works on issues of philosophical method, the history and practice of rhetoric, and moral psychology in Greco-Roman philosophy. He has a special research interest in Plato.

Katie Estep
Senior Dialogue Facilitator

Katie is a Senior at Wesleyan, originally from Baltimore, MD. They are majoring in Mathematics and Philosophy with a minor in Environmental Studies. Outside of class you can find them out in the wilderness, at the go-karting tracks, or sailing on Lake Pocotopaug with the Wesleyan Sailing Team.

Sofia Leautaud
Senior Dialogue Facilitator

Sofia is a Senior from Mexico City. She is majoring in the College of Letters. Outside the classroom, she is always happy to grab coffee and talk about philosophical conundrums, thesis writing, book recommendations, or whatever sitcom she’s currently watching.

Robbie Clemens

Robbie is a Junior majoring in Government with a concentration in political theory. He is currently interested in contemporary political philosophy but he acknowledges he won't find anything he likes more than Zhuangzi. He is from Cambridge, Massachusetts and outside of class you may find him on the rugby pitch or annotating readings and responding to at least three others. Leads Dialogue Sessions for Section 2.

Margery Fang

Margery is a Junior at Wes from Zhengzhou, China. She is majoring in Philosophy and East Asian Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies. From her childhood she loves reading novels and watching movies. Nowadays she also enjoys reading webnovels, mangas and watching animes. Her current interests in philosophy are aesthetics and moral theories related to popular media. Leads Dialogue Sessions for Section 4.

Natalie Horberg

Natalie is a Senior majoring in Philosophy and Film. She first took Living a Good Life during her first semester at Wesleyan and since then has been an active and enthusiastic part of the philosophy department. She’s looking forward to wrapping up her time at Wesleyan by being a Dialogue Facilitator one last time! Leads Dialogue Sessions for Section 4.

Jasmyne Lee

Jas is a Senior majoring in film at Wes. They first took Living a Good Life in their first semester at Wesleyan and completely fell in love with the course. When they're not dying on a thesis set or from their thesis, they love reading, drawing, cooking good food, and napping. They're excited to be a Dialogue Facilitator one last time! Calvin Mustokoff

Calvin is a Junior majoring in Psychology and also completing his Social, Critical, Cultural Theory certificate. He's from Philadelphia, and likes to read, play guitar, and re-watch The Sopranos for fun. He is hoping to bring psychoanalytic perspectives to his DF sessions. Tomás Perez

Tomás is a Junior majoring in Philosophy and Mathematics. From his natal Santiago, Chile, his philosophical interests currently involve metaphysics and the philosophy of mathematics. Besides his academic endeavors, he is a coffee enthusiast (read as addict) that enjoys taking walks to calm his blooming thoughts, mostly due to the caffeine excess, as the peripatetics would do. Sage Saling

Sage is a Junior double majoring in Theatre and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a minor in Human Rights Advocacy. She is from Los Angeles, California and outside of the classroom, she loves baking all kinds of treats and spending time hiking outdoors. Leads Dialogue Sessions for Section 1.

Merik Schaefer

Merik is a Sophomore studying economics with a yet-to-be-decided minor. In the realm of philosophy, he's interested in environmental ethics and political theory but is curious about most branches. Outside of course work, he plays on the men's rugby team, is a member of the ski team, and works a couple of random jobs around campus. You can usually find him at Swings.
