Stephen Angle
Professor of Philosophy and Mansfield Freeman Professor of East Asian Studies

Stephen Angle specializes in Chinese Philosophy, Confucianism, Neo-Confucianism, and comparative philosophy, and his research focuses on philosophy’s role in human rights, politics, and ethics both in China and globally.

Steven Horst
Professor of Philosophy

Steven Horst is Professor of Philosophy. His research interests include philosophy of mind, cognitive science, philosophy of science, and metaphysics. In addition to this course, he also teaches courses in philosophy of mind, Early Modern philosophy, and moral psychology.

Nicholas Whittaker
Assistant Professor of Philosophy

Nicholas Whittaker's research explores the relationships between race, aesthetics, and lived experience. In addition to LAGL, they teach courses on horror films, black metaphilosophy, and political philosophy of race..

Tomás Perez
Senior Dialogue Facilitator

Tomás is a senior majoring in Philosophy and Mathematics. From his natal Santiago, in Chile, his philosophical interests currently involve epistemology and metaphysics. Besides his academic endeavors, he is a coffee enthusiast (read as addict) that enjoys taking walks to calm his blooming thoughts, mostly due to the caffeine excess, as the peripatetics would do.

Margery Fang
Senior Dialogue Facilitator

Margery is a Senior at Wes from Zhengzhou, China. She is majoring in Philosophy and East Asian Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies. From her childhood she loves reading novels and watching movies. Nowadays she also enjoys reading webnovels, mangas and watching animes. Her current interests in philosophy are aesthetics and moral theories related to popular media. 

Robbie Clemmens

Robbie is a Senior majoring in Government with a concentration in political theory. He is currently interested in contemporary political philosophy but he acknowledges he won't find anything he likes more than Zhuangzi. He is from Cambridge, Massachusetts and outside of class you may find him on the rugby pitch or annotating readings and responding to at least three others.

Kat Hernandez

Liev is a Junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in REES and possibly Education Studies. He took Living a Good Life his freshman fall semester and thoroughly enjoyed debating the inner and outer workings of life. Outside of the classroom setting, Liev loves debating other aspects of life like the best premier league team (Arsenal), best musical (Waitress), and best dining option on campus (swings).

Corbin Kelly

Corbin is a Sophomore from South Central Pennsylvania who plans on double majoring in American Government and Psychology. He first became interested in studying philosophy after taking a course in high school. Otherwise, he enjoys travelling with friends, baking desserts for people, and especially loves to garden.

Amin is a sophomore at Wesleyan from Long Island, New York. He is a prospective Film Studies and English Literature double major with a potential minor in IDEAS. Although not a prospective philosophy major, Living a Good Life has enabled him to express his love for the study of philosophy. He is excited to be a first-time dialogue facilitator!

Isabel Keery

Isabel is a Sophomore thinking about majoring in Psychology. She took Living a Good Life during her freshman spring and wants to continue to explore philosophy. She is from Houston, Texas, and outside of class, you can find her dancing, reading, and listening to music.

Lisa Zhang

Lisa is a sophomore from Qingdao, China. She is majoring in the College of Social Studies and minoring in East Asian Studies. She took this class last semester, and it gave her a broader and more open outlook on life. Outside of class, she plays keyboard for her band in China, enjoys photography, and loves watching anime. You can usually find her working on her essays in the CSS Lounge.

Mark Zheng

Mark is a junior majoring in Philosophy and Computer Science. In his first semester of college, he took LAGL, fell in love with it, and has been engaged in philosophical thoughts ever since. He is currently interested in Degrowth and environmental philosophy. Beyond academics, he enjoys strumming his ukulele, jump roping, and playing video games. They’re excited to be a dialogue facilitator for the first time!
